Empowering Hearts and Minds

At Hilltop Education, we believe meaningful connection is the foundation of deep, lasting learning. Here, students study diligently and "seek wisdom from the best books." Our excellent mentors guide students in connecting with timeless classical knowledge and with one another, seeking with both heart and mind to grow in light and understanding.

We recognize that ages 9–18 are a formative time for developing identity and a moral compass. That’s why we’re intentional about reading from the best literature, as well as the mindset and character of both mentors and peers—cultivating intelligence, light, and truth through example and atmosphere founded in Christ and His restored gospel.

For example, Machiavelli’s writings are important and foundational—they’ve shaped history. But does the end justify the means, as he proposed? The gospel of Christ offers a higher lens through which we can evaluate and place such ideas in proper context.

Classical Education

Classical education is a time-tested approach to learning that builds strong thinkers, clear communicators, and curious minds. Our students read great books every day. That is the backbone of their education.

Late Grammar & Logic Stage (ages ~9–14):
At this age, students still love learning facts—but they also start asking “why?” Classical education helps them explore how ideas connect across subjects, how to think critically, and how to ask great questions. They read great books and discuss. They learn to understand the world, not just memorize it.

Early Rhetoric Stage (15-18):
As they mature, students read classical books such as Plato, Euclid, and learn to express their thoughts with clarity, creativity, and confidence—through speaking, writing, and thoughtful conversation. Aided by reading original works of great thinkers, they refine their own thinking.

Throughout, we focus on the great books, big ideas, and timeless skills: literature, history, philosophy, math, science, foreign languages, and the arts. We also emphasize character, virtue, and wonder—so students grow not just in knowledge, but in wisdom.

At HilltopEdu, classical education means learning how to think, not just what to think—while having meaningful discussions, building friendships, and discovering joy in the learning journey.

Experiential

We prioritize hands-on education, enabling students to engage actively and deepen their understanding.

Through storytelling, acting, art, music, notebooking, nature study, poetry, and gardening, students connect deeply with what they’re learning.

Our beautiful campus aids to this end, with lovely places for conversation. These immersive activities foster curiosity, creativity, and lasting understanding by making education a lived experience rather than just a lesson.

Restored Gospel

Jesus Christ's restored gospel unites our mindsets, attitudes, values, and practices. As disciples of Christ, our greatest desire is to become prepared in our hearts, minds, and hands with the skills and abilities we need to accomplish our Heavenly Father's missions for us.

Community
Connection

HilltopEdu fosters meaningful relationships among students, parents, and educators, creating a thriving community.  We will put together celebrations in our beautiful venue to remember.

The youth will collaborate in creating our celebration for the end of the semester and decide on the activity (fancy candlelight dinner? formal dance? lazer games?)

About us

HilltopEdu is a private drop-off school community for students ages 9–18. We believe education should be joyful, creative, and deeply rooted in both truth and curiosity. By meeting just a few hours a couple days a week, with amazing mentors and peers, we aim to enrich each child’s weekly rhythm with relevance, wonder, and joy.

We trust that true education is a sacred process between the child and God. Our role is simply to help the child care—deeply—about ideas filled with light and truth.

"In the end, all education is self-education. What we do is plant seeds and nurture the soil."
— Marlene Peterson
